Great win for Jill

Congratulations to our Jill, victorious on what was a great day of bowling. She beat husband Dave in the semi to take on Phil in the final. It was a great day's competition with 30 members competing for the Ernie Foxley Trophy.

Congratulations to Jill who won against her husband on her way to the final!

Our runner up Phil played a steady game all day but was pipped by Jill after he played Joan in our other mixed semi. Many of the games were very closely fought with only 1 or 2 points in the final score between the players.

Ever the gentleman, Phil commiserated with Joan, who played her best bowls yet (at age 83!). A very tight quarter final with some brilliant bowls rolled by both players. But Phil earned his place in the Semi against overall winner Jill. But what an incredible performance from Joan!

Special mention has to go to Neil for the best canter across the green 🐎 every jack in the gutter or end that needed pegging, he was there, eager to help...
