Season Opening - Joe Hunter Pairs Comp

Well, the weather tried its best to show us all seasons in one day! But mainly, it was dry and very, very cold. But spirits were high and players on fire for the first competition to kick off our 2026 bowling season.

Nineteen pairs signed up and play began in earnest to compete for the trophy. Players old and new enjoyed smiles, chit chat and laughter throughout the day, even in the hailstones! We watched some amazing gameplay and friendly opposition through the rounds until Margaret Hughes and Ray Millar met and pipped John Wrigley and John Stirzaker in the closely contested final.

Special mention to 90 year old Les who played three rounds with partner Gill in blustery conditions. Despite this, Les rolled some amazing woods and wore a smile throughout!
